The Kashtiloth Senate
A patriarchal military dictatorship ruled with an iron fist by Magistrate Kruger II. The Senate persecutes gay men and rebels, banishes dissenters to internment camps on Zemitis and the prison world Corustloth, and systematically suppresses intellectual institutions.
The Siren Sisters
Led by Mother Siren, this secretive sisterhood performs the ancient sacred unification ritual known as the Life-Line. Allied with Captain Farthing and space pirates, they protect persecuted gay telepaths while pursuing the ancient mystery of humankind’s origins.
The Mentalist Order
Operating on the Order’s World on the opposite side of the galaxy, the monastic mentalists led by Father use thought-directed technology and mental conduits like Bennett Davis to search the cosmos for the forgotten Milky Way cradle of humanity.
The Professors of the Learnèd
Former university professors who advised the Senate on Kashtiloth before Magistrate Kruger II. The professors were highly educated individuals of every gender. Magistrate Kruger I, father of Kruger II, disbanded them and hunted many down. It is thought many were killed or sent to Zemetis to work technical jobs far below their capabilities. The Universities were abandoned and guarded, and few ventured near them. This achieved a fear of learning too much in the general population, solidifying Kruger I and II as the rulers of the Kashtiloth Solar System.

Thamara-Afil Amergan (Tam)
Planet: Zemitis | Role: Reluctant Hero
A practical tech graduate forced into labor after his family was interned by the Senate. Joined in a sacred Life-Line soulbond to Brogan, Tam embarks on a perilous journey, stowed away on a freighter across space, to rescue his abducted lover.
Brogan-Afil Faolin
Planet: Kashtiloth | Role: Rebel & Partner
Carefree, outspoken, and daring. Born into a covert family of freedom fighters against the Senate, Brogan united with Tam on a mountain farm before being captured and imprisoned on Corustloth, where he endures torturous Senate experimentation.
Anghelloise
Affiliation: Siren Sisters | Role: Master Pilot
Witty, highly intelligent, and an ace starship pilot. She can repair advanced Siren technology, outwit Senate trackers, sing spellbinding siren songs, and protect Tam and Brogan during their unification.
Captain Farthing
Affiliation: Lambda League | Role: Starship Captain
A massive warrior engineered by Magistrate Kruger I who broke free from his creators. Behind his towering, imposing build lies a gentle heart dedicated to leading rebel pirate fleets to free imprisoned gay men.
Mother Siren
Affiliation: Siren Sisters | Role: Matriarch & Leader
Mother leads the Siren Sisters, determined to unite as many gay men as possible in Life-Line relationships, while keeping her true reasons secret. Knowing the danger of Kruger II as Magistrate, she sends Tam to rescue Brogan and possibly the imprisoned gay men, despite the risk to their lives. With time running out, she relies on her sisters and Captain Farthing’s pirates as they prepare for a potentially disastrous battle.
Commander Jennifer O’Keeffe
Planet: Kashtiloth | Role: Starship Officer & Navigator
Jennifer O’Keeffe is second in command aboard Captain Farthing’s ship where she is an expert pilot and navigator trained in starship mechanics and curved-space navigation. After her gay brother was killed during the hunts on Kashtiloth, she joined Farthing’s crew and pledged allegiance to the Lambda Infinity Omega League in his honor. A devoted ally, she fights for the freedom and rights of her gay friends and crew.
Bennett Davis
Affiliation: The Order | Role: Mentalist Apprentice
A gifted young apprentice chosen by Father to project his consciousness across thousands of lightyears and link minds with Tam. Through Tam’s eyes, Bennett witnesses the truth of humanity’s hidden cosmic destiny.
Artagan Mangrouph-Charon, the first
Planet: Kashtiloth | Role: Senate Researcher
A member of a Senate-run research team on Kashtiloth. There is little known about Artagan—his past seems deliberately hidden. He seeks ways of uncovering information about gay men and their whereabouts. Artagan is clearly a devious, intelligent man with his own agenda.

The psychopathic absolute ruler of the Kashtiloth System. Driven by paranoia and obsession, he hunts gay telepaths and seeks to crush the Siren Sisters and Captain Farthing’s rebel forces at all costs.

Vanguard Nyla Safar
Planet: New Ceres | Role: Vanguard Leader
Master of hand-to-hand combat and fighting batons. Sworn to protect the Guardians, Nyla is a compassionate queer warrior who vows never to take lives needlessly and forms a pivotal alliance with the Nimbus crew.
Guardian Daiyu Lui
Planet: New Ceres | Title: Guardian of the Flame
Appointed eader of the four ruling factions of New Ceres. Embodying the fiery comet emblem, she holds the final authority in the planetary war and works closely with Nyla Safar to protect their realm.
Gary “Dino” Higashi
Planet: New Ceres | Role: Master Conduit Pilot
Master pilot who preserves ancient Japanese family traditions from lost Earth. Accompanied everywhere by his dog Akira, Gary possesses the rare mentalist ability to push emotions and lead high-level mental councils.
Commander Maximilian William Warner-Schmitz
Planet: Suda Trome | Role: Commander of the Military
He runs a democracy where the World Council votes on all decisions, though Warner-Schmitz and his wife, Lady Warner-Schmitz, hold final executive say. Having spent his entire life in the military and elected Commander years ago, his dealings with the crew of the Nimbus pose an unpredictable challenge for Tam and his companions.
Ulla Austad

Crass, direct, and fiercely intellectual, Ulla rarely looks anyone in the eye unless speaking to an equal, staring straight ahead toward distant horizons. Often at odds with Commander Warner-Schmitz in advocating for an intellectual regime, she harbors an intensely keen interest in the phenomenon of Life-Lines.
Seann Caprio-Elderking

A 45-year-old veteran pilot and trained mentalist with ocular implants who lost his partner Günter in the three-regime war. Flies the Valhalla Mark V space fighter assisted by his automaton Omni.
Bacchus Antos-Baran
Planet: Chimera | Role: Supreme Dictator
Cold, calculating autocrat ruling Chimera with unchecked power. Possesses a dangerous relic sought by the Nimbus crew and will stop at nothing to capture their unique vessel for his armada.
Pablo Toros
Planet: Chimera | Role: Fighter Pilot & Assassin
Pablo is an adept pilot and a trained assassin with a troubled, complicated history. Possessing the dangerous mental talent of pushing others to surrender, he creates immense peril for the Nimbus crew and rival regime pilots Seann Caprio-Elderking and Gary Higashi.

The Life-Line Soulbond
An intimate, sacred bond forged by the Siren Sisters linking two souls. What one partner feels, sees, and experiences is shared across the tether. While this bond creates unprecedented telepathic synergy, severe trauma to one can deeply shock the other.
Curved Space & Pylons
A subspace dimension permitting travel at near-light speeds. Vessels in the Kashtiloth System must periodically exit curved space guided by deep-space pylons to reassemble their coordinates. Notably, mentalists experience sudden physiological illness upon exiting.
